Truths of Life

Some things I've learned in my lifetime...

• Yellow snow is not lemon flavored
• The less time that I have to do something, the faster I get it done
• Having a good attitude about something makes it more enjoyable
• Treasure every moment with friends and family... you never know when it might end
• Eating a peanut-butter and chocolate dessert, then drinking sweet tea is NOT a good combination
• Real friends like you for who you are- not for your stuff, or for how you look
• Southerners spell the way that they talk. Example: My family and I went to a concert, and on one of the dressing room doors was a sign that read, "SANGERS ONLY." True story... I swear.

When I moved to South Carolina, I figured out that there are words in the south that do not exist in other parts of the country. Study the following examples carefully:

• Yunt'too- We all's going to the mall to git sum grub. Yunt'too too?
• Used't'could- "Kin you dance?" "No, but ay used't'could dance real good."
• Y'all people- Y'all people jest don't git it, do yoo?
• Whilyoosup- Whilyoosup, would yoo pleez git me the remote over thur?
• Over yonder- Yeeah, they used to live in that house over yonder.
• Buggy- A shopping cart (We wud've gotten them there grossries, but someone done stole ar buggy.)
• A'ight- "Hey Bobby, will you cum har an hep me with this dang transmission?" "A'ight, be right thur."
• Thur- An' over thur, we have one of the county's many jails... (I'm still figuring out how they abbreviate "Thursday" down here...)
• Ain'tcha- Well, you're just the cutest leetle thang, now ain'tcha?

You might be a redneck if...

• You cut your grass and find a car
• You use Febreeze as deodorant
• You say any of the words above
